Jade is a term for two different, tough mineral silicate compounds, nephrite and jadeite, prized for their beauty, often in a range of green colors, and used in jewelry, art, and tools. Historically, it was used for tools and weapons in the Stone Age, and later for symbolic, ritualistic, and ornamental purposes in ancient China, Central America, and other cultures.

Mineral Composition

Nephrite: A magnesium-rich amphibole, found in a variety of colors including green, white, and black.

Jadeite: An aluminum-rich pyroxene, known for its vibrant green colors, as well as other shades.
