The Complete Care Guide for Graphic Denim & Printed Tees

Embroidered denim and graphic tees are investments in wearable art. Unlike plain garments, they carry intricate details — hand-stitched embroidery, screen-printed graphics, and specialty dyes — that require a little extra attention to stay looking their best.

Washing Your Graphic Tee

Always turn your graphic tee inside out before washing. This single step protects the printed surface from friction against other garments and the drum of the washing machine, which is the primary cause of graphic cracking and fading. Use cold water — never hot — as heat is the enemy of both print adhesion and cotton fiber integrity. A gentle cycle with a mild, color-safe detergent is all you need. Avoid fabric softeners on graphic tees; they coat the fibers in a way that can cause prints to peel over time.

Caring for Embroidered Denim

Embroidered denim requires slightly more care than plain jeans. Turn the jeans inside out and wash on a gentle or delicate cycle in cold water. The embroidery threads — particularly those in bright colors like red, gold, and white — are susceptible to bleeding if washed in hot water or with harsh detergents. Use a detergent formulated for darks or delicates to preserve both the denim's indigo and the embroidery's color saturation.

Drying: The Most Critical Step

Heat is the greatest threat to both graphic prints and embroidery. Tumble dry on the lowest heat setting, or better yet, air dry. Lay jeans flat or hang them by the waistband to prevent stretching. For graphic tees, lay flat to dry on a clean surface. Never iron directly over a graphic or embroidery; if pressing is needed, use a pressing cloth and apply heat only to plain fabric areas.

Storage Tips

Store graphic tees folded rather than hung to prevent the print area from stretching over time. For embroidered jeans, folding is also preferable to hanging. Keep both items away from direct sunlight in your wardrobe, as UV exposure causes color fading even in stored garments.

Spot Cleaning

For small stains, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap rather than running the entire garment through a wash cycle. Apply gently in a circular motion, working from the outside of the stain inward to prevent spreading. Allow to air dry completely before wearing or storing.

A little care goes a long way. Treat your graphic denim and tees with the same respect you would give any piece of wearable art, and they will reward you with years of vivid, beautiful wear.
